About this coffee:

This fresh crop coffee comes from the Vergel Estate in Tolima, Colombia, and is from their "Guava Banana" microlot.

This particular coffee was fermented for 60 hours in steel tanks without any oxygen, leading to an intense and pronounced fruit sweetness.  If you like fruity coffees, this is the one for you!  We purchased this coffee directly from the Bayter family in Colombia.

Produced by: The Bayter Family, in Fresno, Tolima, Colombia

Tastes like:  An intense tropical fruit experience

Natural way to start the day!

We are enjoying the El Vergal: Anaerobic Natural so much! It has definite sweet flavors but is not too sweet. The flavors are bold but not overpowering. It is a wonderful way to start the day! I’m glad we tried it and am so happy that we have a 5 lb. bag.

This coffee is lovely as a pour-over and in the Moccamaster. We found the right grind on our Baratza to be around 17-18 for the drip machine. For pour-over, we went with 10.
So much flavor and sweetness that is balanced beautifully. A natural coffee where it’s “green” flavor doesn’t dominate the other subtle flavors.

One of the best and most memorable coffees I've had in the last few years

This coffee is super unique. I've liked other naturals in the past, but the funkiness here is more pronounced than I've ever had! It's really fruity with a lot of the banana that frequently comes from naturals. I actually do get some of the rainbow sherbet as noted on the bag! Shoutout to the barista at FUCR for suggesting it, I would've gotten my usual Ethiopian if they hadn't, and I'm really glad I gave it a shot. Only had it in espresso so far, but plan to try pour over and aeropress next.
