Acidity in Coffee is a Good Thing
Have you ever wondered why we describe almost all of the flavors we taste in our coffee as fruits? Fruits are delicious, bursting with sweetness and yes, they even have natural acidity. When we say acidity, we’re talking about the flavor of fruit.
Did you know coffee is a fruit? It’s a most delicious fruit.
The photo above is of ripe coffee fruit growing on a mature coffee shrub near lake Atitlan in Guatemala. These fruits tasted like bubblegum. It was incredible.
Coffee fruits can and should taste great. Try one if you ever have a chance to visit a coffee farm during harvest season. It’s an experience you soon won’t forget.
So why do we say acidity in coffee is a good thing?
The most simple answer is because it tastes great!
We go out of our way to make sure to select only the finest fruits. Fruits that are bursting with sweetness, nuance, balance and flavor. Many times that flavor has some delicious acidity. That’s not a bad thing, it means we preserved all of the wonderful origin character that we worked so hard to bring to you!
That’s why we strongly believe acidity is a good thing.
